Katahira is an easy way to learn Hiragana and Katakana.  The name Katahira was chosen because popular Japanese software are named after people -- a word processor named Ichitaro and a paint program named Hanako.  Katahira is a Japanese name, and our program teaches KATAkana and HIRAgana, so Katahira was born.
